Declared by EO: Iloilo Business Park is Now the Official Center of Arts and Culture in Iloilo City

It’s official.

On July 9, 2025, Iloilo City Mayor Raisa S. Treñas signed an executive order that proudly declares Iloilo Business Park as the Center of Arts and Culture of Iloilo City.

Let that sink in.

What was once a bustling township known mostly for its world-class developments, business towers, and upscale condominiums is now officially recognized as the heart of Iloilo’s cultural and artistic expression.

And honestly? It’s about time.

🎨 More Than Just Business

If you’ve ever stepped inside the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art (ILOMOCA) — the first of its kind in the Visayas — you’ve already felt it: that quiet sense of awe. That space where silence speaks louder than words, and canvases tell stories more vivid than any headline.

Now add to that the Brandy Museum, a unique space dedicated to heritage and history. Then you have the ICON (Iloilo Convention Center), where world-class performances, exhibits, and festivals breathe life into the city year-round.

Iloilo Business Park is not just a business district anymore — it’s a cultural destination.

🖌️ A Living Canvas

This recognition didn’t happen overnight.

Over the years, the township — developed by Megaworld Corporation — has provided spaces and support for local artists, heritage advocates, and cultural movements. Whether through mural art, museum programs, fashion exhibits, or hosting global art influencers like National Artist Benedicto “BenCab” Cabrera, IBP has quietly but consistently built a cultural identity.

This Executive Order simply formalizes what Ilonggos already knew: the spirit of Iloilo’s art scene lives here.

📜 What the Executive Order Says

Signed by Mayor Treñas, Executive Order No. 021 states:

“In recognition of the continuing efforts, initiatives, and overwhelming support in providing avenues for artistic expression… ILOILO BUSINESS PARK is hereby declared as the CENTER OF CULTURE AND ARTS of Iloilo City.”

It’s more than just a title. It’s a commitment — to preserve, promote, and push forward the cultural identity of the Ilonggo people through art, design, history, and heritage.

🌆 What This Means for the Future

This is a big win for:

Local artists and creatives
Cultural tourists and heritage advocates
Ilonggos abroad looking for homegrown pride
Investors seeking meaning and value in real estate

It means that every mural, every exhibit, every community project hosted here is part of something bigger — a living legacy.

And it means that when you walk around Iloilo Business Park, you’re not just in a township… you’re in the beating heart of Iloilo’s artistic soul.

🖼️ Visit. Celebrate. Be Proud.

Come see it for yourself.

Bring your family to ILOMOCA. Stroll through Festive Walk and discover installations you’ve never noticed before. Catch an art show at ICON. Take a moment in front of the Brandy Museum and imagine the stories behind it.

Because now, every visit to Iloilo Business Park is not just a leisure trip — it’s a cultural experience.

And we Ilonggos?
We’re just getting started.
